Quickie

Making up for all the missed posts earlier this week: I hearken now to the days of my youth, spent growing up in small-town america surrounded by rednecks.

Happy F-ing holidays evvybuddy! Yee-haw!

That's gonna look great mounted up on the wall of the den. Too bad these things are such a b*tch to field-dress.

Sorry. I can't tell what it is. Maybe it's something I would need to see in real life to "get".

It's, um, a deer. Hanging from a tree to drain its...blood.

Correct - it is a holiday rendition of every hunter's favorite task - stringing up your deer for field dressing.

For the record - because I took firearms safety in 7th grade I know how to do this. It's really-really messy and requires a sharp knife. I'm going to avoid goign into any more details for fear of offending those in my audience with delicate constitutions.

I'm glad someone said what it was in the picture. I would never have figured it out because I've never seen it happen. That's a really really weird thing to want as yard-art, isn't it?

The theme song to 'Beverly Hillbillies" just came to my head.
That's damn funny.

I think my favorite part is that it is hanging next to the hummingbird feeder. :)

I always disliked those fake deer made of lights that came out at christmas. especially th ones that are motorized so that their heads move up and down! glad to see some hunters see those fake deer as fair game.
