Technology + movement + fun = fitness!

I did it today. I've been hunting around various secret websites for week snow trying to gamble where and when a local Target or Circuit City/Best Buy would have a Nintendo Wii in stock but all to no avail. And after reading about this guys experiment with the "Wii as Exercise" experiment I am even *more* interested. So I went to eBay and found good* deals for two of them (one for me and one for my little brother who's birthday is coming up soon).

So, come next week I'm going to start my virtual cross training program just like this guy did - 30 minutes a day, every day. I'll post updates each week and see if I can beat his 9-lbs loss in 6 weeks. I'm so stoked!

* Well..."decent". Everyone on eBay is getting somewhat shafted on these, but at least I'm not paying $600+ plus shipping like this sucker (yes, I realized that one came with an extra controller but controllers are cheap, and that's more than $200 over the going eBay rate currently)

Awesome typo - you said you've been hunting "for week snow." I was trying to figure out what you meant - weak snow? For a week of snow? He is kind of obsessed with snow....

I think you should leave it. :) Also, congratulations. And I've been tempted to get some kind of game system and DDR for the exercise reason, except that I really don't need something else to obsess over.

Interesting! I've thought about investing in one of those computer personal trainer deals, but a Wii could be more fun! Whee!

Cool. I've thought about getting a Wii as well, but glacierbaby isn't old enough to play it yet. Maybe when he is older, and you can actually find a Wii in stores, will we actually get one.

I assumed "week snow" was supposed to be capitalized - "Week Snow", like "Camp Partly Cloudy" or "Team Highs in the Mid Teens".

I saw some PS3s at Target the other day, but my brother gave me a new system that plays original NES games for x-mas, so my video gaming needs are filled for the forseeable future. StarTropics rocks.

I gave up on hunting down a Wii for The Boy. I think I'll wait a bit and see if they show up in stores again instead of trolling ebay.

Good luck on your exercise program. I'm interested to learn how it works for you!

Hahah, I just read a post a few above this and commented that some dude lost a ton of weight playing Wii, and now I see you blogged about said dude....

After all, Elmo seems equally disinterested in both...

I have a hard time believing that Elmo was traumatized by Katy Perry's decollatage after discovering that he had already "been arou...
