The sounds of silence

I officially have laryngitis, which tewtally sucks. After discussing it with my doctor's nurse yesterday, I'm under orders to rest my voice as much as possible over the next few days. Those of you who know me personally understand how difficult this is for me.

Mercifully, my boss is out of the office today and I have a half-day vacation this afternoon. So it's just a matter of keeping my head down so nobody tries to involve me in a conversation.

Man...I'm already bored...

Laryngitis is sweeping the nation. A bunch of people in the Revels chorus had it this fall, and I just got a cold yesterday...so I'm not talking til Friday night, just in case. (Trying, anyway.)

After my first day of self-imposed muteness I can safely say that my throat feels much better, but it's not quite all the way back yet. So, I'm going to take one more day to rest the ol' larynx. Hopefully I'll be all back and ready to go tomorrow. Just in time for my "have to use them all before the end of the calendar year" vacation day. W00t!

I'm not sure which I prefer: laryngitis or vomiting in public (see today's post over at my olde blog). Hope you're on a trip to quick recovery!
