Quickie - OAM Reunion News Flash!

While perusing my alma mater’s website today* I noticed something that scared me and that will scare those of my readers who will be in attendance with me. Remember where our class was housed last time? That lovely little cottage on the hill? Well it seems that the other little dorm across the lake is now considered the crappiest of them all, because the tenth year class from this summer’s reunion was housed in "Hillside".

I pray to God this doesn’t mean we’ll** be in Hillside again next summer…

* To reply that I can’t be on the reunion planning committee this year due to guests coming the weekend of the planning session
** Full disclosure, I didn’t stay in Hillside for the 5 year. My late reservation meant that Hillside was full and I ended up being housed in “Pile of Crap On The Other Side of Campus Behind the Nice Dorms” with the 10 years – which is now apparently so bad that they didn’t house anyone in it for this summer’s reunion. Still, it sucked having to walk all the way across campus to attend events.

Oh these dorm names are confusing me. I was in the Hillside dorm for our five-year, and it was HORRIBLE. I was in a single on the first floor right near the lounge, and I was (as you probably remember) totally freaking sick, and it was so loud, and I could not sleep.

Wait what's pile-of-crap-on-the-other-side-of-campus? I thought the 10-year class was in the one on the other side of the lakes.

I don't think think I'm going to do reunion planning this time - I just hate asking people for money.

Maybe they've set it up so a class ends up in the same dorm over and over and over and over - Hillside forever!

I never had to live in Hillside or Pile o' Crap or Dorm on the Far Side of the Lake. Although I did live in Pile o' Crap's slightly better east-side twin (Cup o' Crap?) along with TOWWAS and J.Vo, where I got to look longly at my first-year dorm, Ye Olde Nice Dorm.

Hillside could be nice if they completely tore out the inside and started over.

Cup o' Crap, I like it. It was definitely nicer than Pile o' Crap. I never had to live in any of those dorms, either, although I was never so lucky as to live in Ye Olde Nice Dorm.

Yeah, Ye Olde Nice Dorm ruled. I lived there junior year after two years in Lakeside dorm. Then I closed out my college housing career with a year in Stadium (with TOWWAS as my not-so-rowdy upstairs naighbor), which is so innocuously named that it doesn't require a pseudonym.

But Ye Olde was the best...

Man, Stadium was a great place to live. Except for my excessively rowdy downstairs neighbors. Man. They were outta control.

I lived in Stadium the one summer I stayed on campus. It was SO COOL. Who knew living behind a bunch of bleachers could be so fun ... and hot (in the muggy sense).
